The McLaren Senna is about to debut: A tribute to the most successful McLaren champion of all time from the famous automaker.

Unique. Magical. Super precise. Super fast.
An extraordinary talent on and off the racetrack, a charismatic personality and an indomitable spirit. The racing driver with melancholic eyes who drove with his head but also with his heart.
Ayrton Senna was not just a racing driver, he was the racing driver.

The best of all time, even among those who won more than him. Because we all know that Ayrton would have continued winning if his life had not been cut short at just 34 during the San Marino Grand Prix. It was 1 May 1994.

A date no one will forget, a Sunday when panic broke out in the world because that day a legend died on the track. It is impossible to forget that heated rivalry with Prost, which always marked the lives of the two great drivers, from when they were teammates as well as competing against each other. It is impossible to forget the first world victory aboard a McLaren, in 1988, a year Ayrton Senna closed with 8 wind, 13 pole positions and with an early race. And it is impossible to forget the other two consecutive world victories in McLaren, in 1990 and 1991.

If Ayrton remains a legend forever in the Formula 1 world, the car McLaren dedicated to him is undoubtedly destined to make history.

In fact, it boasts a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 800 PS, rear traction and 7 gears. The seemingly against the tide choice of a nonhybrid engine should not be surprising: giving up the hybrid in this case means having top performance.
Production of the McLaren Senna will start in the third quarter of 2018 and will be limited to 500 vehicles at a price of around €945,500: a true evolution, the manifesto of the technology of the automotive house dedicated to one of the greatest legends in the car-racing world. The McLaren Senna only weighs 1,198 kg, thanks to the use of carbon fiber for each component.
The Race Active Chassis Control is also making its debut in the Senna, and will make the front and rear active aerodynamics work in harmony with the hydraulic suspensions.
Fans will be moved by the two side doors that uncover a part of the roof, a wink to the unforgettable McLaren F1 GT of 1992.

The McLaren Senna is the most extreme road car ever, able to recreate that total connection between car and driver that Ayrton spoke of experiencing on 14 May 1988, during what he defined as “the perfect lap”, aboard his McLaren Mp4/4.
